James D. Engle

Born in California 35 years ago he now lives in Seattle with his two cats and his spouse. As he walks through life, he witnesses many distinct kinds of beauty and appreciates its various forms. Luckily he has a camera to embrace it. Capturing moments, frozen in time, still frames that allude to so much more. He collects the laughter that speaks of joy, he shows the flowers that herald Spring, he exhibits the waterfalls that hint of renewal and his passion for water. Life is a constantly shifting mosaic, from which a photographer seeks to steal glimpses.

Just as storm chasers go where storms are the hottest, as a photographer, he is a light chaser.  He stalks that ever-elusive glow of perfect light. With every shot, a full spectrum color wheel tumbles through a light chaser’s mind.

His aim is to translate the living world into art and make it accessible to everyone.

At Caffe Ladro

Cafe Ladro was kind of enough to let me show my work in their wonderful space in the Downtown Bellevue. This is the first public showing of my work. I am showing mostly my travel to Maui and one of my favorite from Kinzie Battery bunker hallway.
